SUMMARY:NEASLH Annual Meeting: Reclaiming Our Breath
DESCRIPTION:\nJoin Us for the NEASLH Annual Meeting\nReclaiming Our Breath\nThe past several years have challenged us in countless ways. As professionals, students, educators, researchers, and advocates, we have navigated extraordinary demands while continuing to show up for those we serve and for one another. In the midst of it all, it can be easy to lose sight of ourselves.\nThis year’s NEASLH Annual Meeting invites us to pause, reflect, and reconnect through the theme, “Reclaiming Our Breath.”\nFor us, Reclaiming Our Breath is about recognizing that, even amid uncertainty and adversity, we each possess the capacity to move forward with intention, purpose, and hope. It is an invitation to exercise our agency, nurture our well-being, recognize the capacity we build through community, and remember that what surrounds us does not have to define us.\nWe are honored to welcome R. Danielle Scott, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Scott is an Associate Clinical Professor at Northeastern University Charlotte, Faculty Scholar with the Institute of Health Equity and Social Justice Research, and a nationally respected leader whose work centers justice, belonging, liberation, cultural humility, anti-oppressive pedagogy, and therapeutic relationships.\nJoining Dr. Scott in conversation will be Blessly Mathews, SLPD, CCC-SLP, NEASLH Vice Chair. Together, they will engage in dialogue exploring this year’s theme and what it means for our profession, our communities, and ourselves.\nIn addition to our keynote conversation, the Annual Meeting will include the official business meeting of the organization as we reflect on NEASLH’s accomplishments over the past year, welcome new\nmembers, and look ahead to the opportunities that await us. Whether you have been involved with NEASLH for years or are joining us for the first time, we hope you will be part of this meaningful evening of conversation, connection, and community.\nEVENT DETAILS\nEvent: NEASLH Annual Meeting\nTheme: Reclaiming Our Breath\nDate: Thursday, July 30, 2026\nTime: 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time\nOpen to: Members, students, colleagues, and guests\nZoom Link: https://umass-amherst.zoom.us/j/93913126097 ( https://umass-amherst.zoom.us/j/93913126097 )\nMeeting ID: 939 1312 6097\n
